Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Focusing on setting the technical direction for reliability, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will manage the deploy pipeline, observability, and capacity controls in a remote environment while enhancing the overall operational reliability of the company's infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Set the reliability strategy for the platform, including SLOs and error budgets
• Own observability end-to-end, ensuring proactive problem detection through tracing, metrics, and alerting
• Define and implement operational standards for AI-powered workflows and integrations with dental insurance carriers

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience running production systems with a focus on reliability
• Deep experience with AWS (or GCP) and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and operational challenges associated with them
• Strong command of TypeScript/JavaScript, with the ability to read and fix application code
• Experience with relational databases and ensuring data integrity under load
