Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing digital health innovation practice, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will design and build scalable full-stack software systems, develop AI applications, and lead engineering teams in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead rapid delivery initiatives across teams, coaching on prototype-first approaches and establishing trust through consistent fast delivery
• Architect RAG systems for complex use cases, implementing advanced techniques and mentoring engineers on best practices
• Build high-performing teams, navigating interpersonal dynamics and fostering environments where diverse perspectives are valued

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field with 7+ years of relevant professional experience
• Deep production experience with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, along with strong knowledge of modern frontend frameworks and backend API development
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code tools
• Demonstrable fluency with AI coding tools and experience architecting production generative AI applications
• Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and navigating ambiguous problem spaces with business stakeholders
