Job Summary

Seeking a Staff Software Engineer with over 10 years of experience to join a remote-first, full-time team focused on building scalable production systems for a $1B+ marketplace, where the engineer will drive technical direction, collaborate cross-functionally, and leverage AI in development.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of cross-team projects from design to production with minimal handoffs
• Utilize AI tools to enhance engineering practices and set standards for quality across pods
• Make architectural decisions that balance speed, quality, and maintainability while mentoring other engineers

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in building and shipping production systems at scale
• Proven ability to integrate AI into engineering workflows and influence team practices
• Strong backend development skills, particularly in Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks
• Experience in system design and making cross-functional architecture decisions
• Clear and concise communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
