Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the architecture and delivery strategy for the Command|Alert service, the full-time remote Staff Software Engineer will design high-reliability notification systems, define integration models for various channels, and mentor engineers to enhance reliability and delivery correctness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the architecture and long-term direction of Command|Alert, including delivery guarantees and routing logic
• Define the integration model for outbound channels such as PagerDuty, Slack, and email/SMS
• Design and evolve the Temporal workflow layer for complex delivery logic and guaranteed delivery under failure

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience designing and operating high-reliability notification or alerting systems at production scale
• Strong integration engineering background across channel brokers like PagerDuty and ticketing platforms
• Hands-on production experience with Temporal or a comparable workflow orchestration platform
• Experience reasoning across distributed system state with a focus on delivery guarantees and idempotency
• Track record of cross-team technical influence and driving alignment on shared contracts or platform capabilities
