Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Driving the identification and delivery of complex software solutions, the full-time remote Staff Software Engineer will lead the design and architecture of large-scale systems while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams in the Banking and Money Movement domain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of complex systems, impacting product strategy and ensuring alignment with business goals
• Take ownership of major technical initiatives, providing direction and fostering collaboration among teams
• Drive architectural improvements for scalability and performance, while mentoring team members and promoting best practices

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in backend engineering with a strong foundation in system design and architecture
• 3+ years of experience in payments or the FinTech space
• Deep expertise in backend technologies (e.g., Java, Python) and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Postgres)
• Proven experience leading technical projects and teams with a focus on high-performance, reliable systems
• Strong track record of designing and scaling maintainable systems while mentoring less-experienced engineers
