Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a hands-on Staff Software Engineer, Backend for a remote, full-time position responsible for designing and implementing Kotlin backend services, leading the development of Toast's software services for device management, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance user experience.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust backend services to improve device management workflows
• Lead the development of next-generation software services and applications for seamless device configuration
• Collaborate with Product Management, Hardware, and QA teams to define product roadmap and requirements

Required qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in designing and implementing backend services
• Proficiency in modern object-oriented programming languages such as Java or Kotlin
• Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to drive cross-team alignment
• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies
• Applied knowledge of backend application lifecycle management and API design strategies
