Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

As a full-time remote Staff Software Engineer with a strong backend focus, the candidate will own and evolve backend systems and data infrastructure that support member experiences and internal workflows while collaborating with front-end engineers to ensure quality and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend systems for the Foodsmart web application
• Collaborate with front-end engineers to design and implement APIs that serve front-end needs
• Establish development practices, including code reviews and testing, to enhance code quality and system performance

Required qualifications

• 8 - 10 years of experience in backend development using programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or Node.js
• Proficient knowledge of RESTful APIs and experience in designing and implementing them
• Strong command of SQL databases and experience with cloud data warehouses like Amazon Redshift
• Extensive experience with AWS services including Lambda, SQS, RDS, and EC2
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
