Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the healthcare system, the remote Staff Software Development Engineer will lead API surface decisions, manage technical discovery for new capabilities, and provide mentorship while working on the Synapse Everywhere platform.

Key responsibilities

• Establish expertise in solving complex problems and guide team members in their approach
• Lead decisions regarding API exposure, stability guarantees, and internal functionalities
• Participate in on-call rotation, respond to incidents, and drive post-incident reliability improvements

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, particularly with public or partner-facing APIs
• Deep knowledge of back-end technologies such as Golang, Python, and Kotlin
• Experience with API gateway or management tools in a production environment
• Proficient in building comprehensive tests across all layers
• Familiarity with healthcare industry and/or machine learning data science is a plus
