Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support the GitHub Copilot AI Models team, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will build, maintain, and evolve a robust platform that powers GitHub Copilot, focusing on backend services and APIs to ensure reliable and scalable access for developers globally.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and ship high-quality technical solutions that scale across multiple GitHub services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement innovative solutions
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to encourage the growth of team members

Required qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in Software Engineering or a related technical discipline with proven experience in production software coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
• OR an Associate's Degree in a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience
• OR a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 7+ years of relevant experience
• OR a Master's Degree in a related field and 5+ years of relevant experience
• OR a Doctorate in a related field and 3+ years of relevant experience
