Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of AI-enabled educational products, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will lead design reviews, establish reusable patterns, and drive reliability improvements while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and set technical direction for larger, cross-cutting engineering efforts
• Establish reusable patterns, templates, and guardrails that multiple teams adopt to enhance system reliability
• Drive refactors and improvements that reduce defects and incident volume, while coaching others on effective practices

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production code
• Extensive experience in designing and operating scalable production software systems
• Proven ability to set technical direction and influence engineering practices across teams
• Strong system design skills, including reliability controls and observability
• Experience leading modernization efforts that lower long-term costs of change
