Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the efficiency of large-scale cloud-native infrastructures, the full-time Staff Software Engineer in Capacity Engineering will focus on optimizing performance, developing profiling capabilities, and collaborating with infrastructure teams, while working remotely with occasional in-office collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Improve the efficiency of large-scale shared environments, particularly Kubernetes
• Build and mature profiling and optimization capabilities for Pinterest's systems
• Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering and SRE teams to ensure resilient and efficient tech foundations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Deep understanding of infrastructure capacity and performance
• Experience leading efficiency initiatives at scale on Kubernetes or similar infrastructures
• Proficiency in software development languages such as Java, Python, and C++
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments
