Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a seasoned Staff Software Engineer to work remotely in a full-time capacity, responsible for owning and evolving a metered billing system that serves millions of users, driving architectural decisions, and mentoring engineers across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve the metered billing system, ensuring reliability, scale, and developer velocity
• Work across the stack, from backend services to frontend experiences, while guiding testing plans and success metrics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead discussions on shared technical problems, participating in on-call rotations and incident response

Required qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related technical discipline, with proven experience in production software coding in languages such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
• Demonstrated experience designing and operating services on cloud platforms like Azure
• Experience in maintaining and delivering production software with a focus on reliability and performance
• Ability to mentor and grow engineers through feedback and technical leadership
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus
