Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Architecting and building production systems, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will evaluate and modernize legacy platforms while implementing AI-native products for the auto casualty business, working remotely or from New York or Chicago.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect systems and write the code that brings AI-native products into production
• Assess complex legacy systems to determine what to rebuild, replace, or retain
• Establish engineering standards in collaboration with Product, Data Science, and Data Engineering teams

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of engineering experience with a history of owning features from inception to implementation
• Proficiency in Python, with experience in TypeScript/JavaScript for front-end development
• Deep architectural experience with existing systems, including multi-tenant backends and relational database design
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools and their application in real projects
• Ability to connect technical work to business impact through effective communication
