Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

As a full-time Staff Software Engineer for the Forecast Engine, the successful candidate will design and build an automation layer for forecasting cloud capacity and cost, ensuring timely and accurate tracking against plans and budgets, while working in a flexible or remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable software components focused on performance and reliability
• Collaborate with product managers to translate planning requirements into well-architected solutions
• Build and maintain automated forecasting pipelines, integrating alerting and monitoring systems

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in backend systems and cloud-native architecture, or equivalent education and experience
• Strong programming skills in Rust, Go, Java, or C++, along with proficiency in Python for data tooling
• Proven experience in building automated, scheduled data pipelines that operate reliably in production
• Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration systems like Argo or Airflow
• Familiarity with observability and logging platforms such as Splunk or Datadog
