Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

To shape the pull request and code review experience for over 100 million developers, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will design, build, and evolve systems while collaborating remotely with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and ship high-quality solutions focused on pull request and code review workflows
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, ensuring the production of maintainable code and elevating team standards
• Own the health and quality of systems, participating in on-call rotations and contributing to incident response

Required qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related field, with proven experience in production software coding in languages such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
• Experience building and operating large-scale web applications with a focus on reliability and performance
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives from problem definition through shipping
• Track record of mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across teams
• Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, or Go in production is preferred
