Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the speed and reliability of testing at Coinbase, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will define and own the technical strategy for test infrastructure, build and operate core test services, and mentor engineering teams while working remotely with quarterly in-person sessions.

Key responsibilities:

• Define and own the technical strategy for test infrastructure across Coinbase engineering
• Build and operate core test infrastructure services, including orchestration and flaky-test detection
• Drive improvements in test feedback speed and signal reliability for confident software shipping

Required qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience building and operating production software with distributed systems fundamentals
• Proficiency in Go or a similar programming language
• Deep experience in test infrastructure, including test execution at scale and test result analysis
• Proven experience with Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and observability tools
• Demonstrated success in measuring platform impact and maintaining SLOs and incident response processes
