Job Summary

Seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join a small, AI-native team in a fully remote capacity, responsible for setting technical direction, owning complex systems, and driving integration for Affirm's banking infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical direction for the bank's core systems, including cloud infrastructure and data platforms
• Own and resolve the most complex engineering challenges end-to-end, ensuring operational readiness and compliance
• Establish coding standards and mentorship practices to enhance team performance and efficiency

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on high-stakes systems
• Proven ability to define technical strategy and architecture without requiring a management title
• Experience in regulated environments, particularly in banking or financial services
• Strong familiarity with public cloud infrastructure and data platforms
• Demonstrated experience in selecting and integrating third-party platforms
