Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Owning a data pipeline that sets rental prices, the full-time remote Staff Software Engineer will manage Python for machine learning, Terraform for infrastructure, and Ruby for application layers while tackling complex data challenges and building robust systems.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the system responsible for generating rent pricing recommendations based on demand models and data analysis
• Develop infrastructure using Terraform and ensure smooth operation of data ingestion and processing pipelines
• Implement observability and alerting mechanisms to maintain data integrity and accuracy in pricing outputs

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in building and operating production systems with significant ownership
• Strong proficiency in Python, particularly in serverless or service contexts
• Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code and production data store management
• Fluency in analytical SQL and experience with multi-stage data warehouse pipelines
• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails and cloud-native AWS services including Lambda, S3, and Redshift
