Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the technical direction for simulation-based testing, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will define, build, and support testing of autonomous trucks in a virtual environment while mentoring team members and driving alignment across various teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and support testing of autonomous trucks using real-world data and simulation scenarios
• Lead architecture decisions for simulation test environments and drive consensus within the simulation team
• Mentor engineers and oversee the execution of test plans in simulation and replay-based environments

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or an equivalent field with 10+ years of experience; or a Master's degree with 7+ years; or a PhD with 5+ years
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and simulation-based testing methodologies
• Experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing
• Proven ability to lead virtual testing events and troubleshoot complex software issues
• Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and reporting on testing progress and technical risk
