Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Creative problem solvers will find a full-time remote opportunity as a Staff Software Engineer, responsible for designing and developing scalable technical solutions, providing technical leadership and mentorship, and advocating for system health and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and ship high-quality technical solutions across multiple GitHub services
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, ensuring adherence to quality standards and maintainable code
• Own system health and quality, participating in on-call rotations and live incident management

Required qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in software engineering or related technical discipline, with proven experience in production software coding in languages such as Go, Ruby, Rust, Python, JavaScript, C, C++, C#, or Java
• Associate's degree in a related field plus 8+ years of experience, or a bachelor's degree plus 7+ years of experience, or a master's degree plus 5+ years of experience, or a doctorate plus 3+ years of experience in software engineering
• Experience in designing and implementing APIs for software component integration
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools for setting up automated pipelines
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead discussions for technical solutions
