Job Summary
Leading engineering efforts for Root's Build & Deploy team, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will set technical direction, enhance developer productivity, and design scalable systems for software delivery in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Set the technical direction for build and deploy systems in collaboration with engineering teams and leadership
- Identify and lead initiatives to reduce feedback-loop time and manual toil across Engineering
- Design and evolve reliable systems for building, testing, releasing, and deploying software
Required qualifications
- 7+ years as a software engineer
- 3+ years leading software teams or major technical initiatives
- Experience with CI/CD, developer tooling, or internal platform systems
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containers, and build automation
- Proven leadership of projects involving multiple teams and complex migrations
