Job Summary
As a key architect on the Passport team, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will design and evolve core services for account state and entitlements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable and reliable backend systems in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and evolve services and data models that track account state and entitlements for millions of accounts
- Collaborate with product and design teams to translate new concepts into scalable technical designs
- Set technical direction and mentor engineers while driving cross-team architecture decisions
Required qualifications:
- 9+ years of experience in designing and scaling complex, distributed backend systems
- Proven track record of technical leadership and setting architecture direction
- Deep expertise in distributed systems fundamentals, including data consistency and API design
- Experience with systems involving financial transactions or stateful account data
- Strong mentoring skills and ability to influence technical decisions across teams
