Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
Leading the architecture and development of web applications, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will work remotely to enhance CodePath's learning platform, making critical technical decisions and mentoring other engineers while driving innovative projects.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and build web applications using Ruby on Rails, Sinatra/Padrino, and Django
- Make technical decisions on infrastructure, data modeling, and API design with full ownership
- Mentor engineers and elevate the technical standards of the team through reviews and feedback
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 5 years with Ruby on Rails
- Strong PostgreSQL and database design skills, with experience in complex queries and schema evolution
- Familiarity with Claude Code or similar development tools and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical decisions in a small, autonomous team environment
- Passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact
