Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Staff Software Engineer to work remotely, who will provide technical leadership and develop high-quality solutions for enhancing AI agents' context capabilities within GitHub's Copilot platform.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for systems that help AI agents acquire, interpret, retain, and apply relevant software-development context
- Design, prototype, implement, test, ship, and operate scalable technical solutions across GitHub services and Copilot experiences
- Develop platform capabilities and APIs for context retrieval, sessions, memory, and agent customization
Required qualifications
- 9+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related technical discipline with proven experience in production software coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience
- Experience with information retrieval, context retrieval, or knowledge systems
- Proven ability to turn ambiguous product opportunities into clear technical strategies and architecture proposals
- Experience with experimentation, telemetry, and data-informed product development
