Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the development of evaluation strategies and metrics for autonomous driving software, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will work remotely to enhance evaluation workflows, drive statistical and ML methods, and present insights to stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Define strategy and architecture for evaluating autonomous driving software performance across the autonomy stack
• Lead cross-functional efforts to integrate evaluation into development workflows and release decisions
• Invent and implement new statistical and ML methods to quantify performance and detect system behavior patterns at scale

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with robotics or autonomous systems software across multiple subsystems
• 3+ years of experience leading evaluation of complex dynamic systems using numerical and ML approaches on large-scale time series data
• Proficiency in Python and experience working in large C++ autonomy codebases
• Proven cross-team technical leadership with a track record of influencing strategies and architectural decisions
• PhD, Masters, or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field
