Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
As a foundational member of the Data Infrastructure team, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will work remotely to design and implement software features that enhance data processing capabilities and optimize Apache Hudi's transactional engine for diverse customer workloads.
Key responsibilities
- Design new concurrency control and transactional capabilities to maximize throughput for competing writers
- Implement new indexing schemes optimized for incremental data processing and analytical query performance
- Collaborate with engineers to deploy optimized solutions in production while solving complex optimization problems
Required qualifications
- Strong object-oriented design and coding skills in Java and/or C/C++ on UNIX or Linux platforms
- Experience with distributed systems, algorithms, and relational databases
- Able to tackle ambiguous problems and articulate technical challenges and solutions
- Experience running production services at scale
- Ability to quickly prototype optimization solutions and analyze large, complex data
