Job Summary
Leading the evolution of Kilo Code, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will set technical direction, design and ship advanced features, and mentor a team, all while working remotely within the United States.
Key responsibilities
- Set technical direction for performance optimization initiatives and establish reusable patterns for the team
- Design, build, and ship advanced features, translating business priorities into technical roadmaps
- Mentor engineers through code reviews and architectural discussions, raising the bar for code quality and performance
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of professional software development experience with technical leadership on production systems
- Proven track record of setting technical direction for complex projects and delivering results
- Deep experience building developer tools or IDE extensions with a focus on performance optimization
- Expertise in TypeScript and modern JavaScript, including asynchronous patterns and Node.js optimization
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools and managing context window integration
