Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
To enhance the Detection Platform, the remote Staff Software Engineer will lead the modernization of detection engines and pipelines, ensuring reliability under load while writing and reviewing production code weekly.
Key responsibilities
- Modernize detection engines and pipelines to support advanced specifications while ensuring legacy systems remain functional during transitions
- Implement reliability measures to prevent silent failures in detection pipelines, including latency measurement and alerting systems
- Drive the development of coherent event schemas and validation tooling for upstream changes affecting detection systems
Required qualifications
- Extensive experience in designing and operating production distributed systems at scale, primarily using Go
- Proven track record of re-architecting high-throughput systems without disrupting existing consumers
- Experience with high-volume event or data pipelines, understanding their behavior under load
- Strong operability instincts with a focus on built-in observability and alerting mechanisms
- Demonstrated technical leadership across teams, influencing direction and raising engineering standards
