Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support a transformative technology initiative, the full-time Staff Software Engineer will lead the architecture and modernization of backend systems, manage cross-functional projects, and mentor engineers, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Own the architecture of the team's domain, ensuring seamless integration and data flow across services and systems
- Lead modernization efforts by defining migration strategies and managing high-stakes projects with clear value and cost frameworks
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and mentorship within the engineering team, enhancing organizational AI fluency and technical standards
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership
- Expert-level backend engineering in TypeScript/Node.js and/or Java, with full-stack experience across modern web technologies
- Proven experience in modernizing legacy systems and managing service extraction from monolithic architectures
- Deep expertise in relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL, and strong fundamentals in distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and AI coding tools, alongside excellent communication skills for technical and business audiences
