Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
Collaborating with a team of engineers, the fully remote Staff Software Engineer in Observability will develop and maintain foundational platforms for Reddit's infrastructure, focusing on enhancing the availability, scalability, and efficiency of observability components.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver software solutions to improve observability components' performance and efficiency
- Automate critical aspects of the event-driven development process and share on-call responsibilities
- Contribute to the technical direction of eventing and provide feedback on strategic initiatives
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in developing internet-scale software, preferably in infrastructure
- Familiarity with distributed systems development and tools such as Prometheus, Thanos, and Grafana
- Experience with Kubernetes or similar distributed systems
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities in systems and software engineering
- Proven track record of engineering large systems and being a self-starter on projects
