Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Job Summary

To lead the technical direction and architecture of AI systems, the full-time remote Staff Software Engineer (AI) will manage hands-on delivery of AI solutions, mentor engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally to enhance product experiences for institutional financial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for AI systems, including architecture and design for complex backend and AI platform systems
• Write production code and operate LLM-powered systems while ensuring end-to-end reliability and defining quality benchmarks
• Mentor engineers and establish coding standards, review practices, and architectural documentation to enhance team performance

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of backend and/or ML engineering experience with a focus on technical leadership and mentorship
• Deep expertise in Python and production experience with AI/LLM-powered systems
• Experience in leading technical design for complex systems and making architecture decisions
• Proficiency with cloud-native systems using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code
• Hands-on experience with AI-native development tools and the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs
