Staff Software Engineer - AI Optimization

Job Summary

Leading agent optimization efforts, the full-time Staff Software Engineer - AI Optimization will design tools for Temporal users to enhance agent performance while managing token spend and response time, all in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build agentic coding systems to ensure high-quality outputs
• Take end-to-end ownership of new features, collaborating with cross-functional teams for reliability and developer experience
• Serve as a domain expert on AI design patterns and engage with the developer community for feedback and debugging

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of professional work experience in software engineering
• Proven experience optimizing AI systems using machine learning and systems techniques
• Fluency in multiple programming languages, including Python, TypeScript, Java, and Go
• Deep experience with concurrent programming and API design
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience in production-grade software development
