Staff Software Engineer - Backend

Job Summary

To drive backend services and cloud-native systems forward, the remote Staff Software Engineer - Backend will design, build, and scale features for REST APIs and large-scale data processing pipelines using Python, Typescript, and AWS, while mentoring developers and optimizing system performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement features for REST APIs and large-scale data processing pipelines
• Architect and optimize backend services for high throughput and low-latency performance
• Mentor developers and guide code reviews to enhance engineering quality standards

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience with a strong backend focus
• 7+ years of hands-on Python experience, particularly with APIs and large-scale data pipelines
• 3+ years of experience working with Typescript / Node.js
• Advanced knowledge of AWS services and Kubernetes for deploying production workloads
• Proven experience with large datasets and distributed computing, including tools like Spark and Kafka
