Staff Software Engineer, Backend

Job Summary

As a full-time Staff Software Engineer, Backend on the Advanced Trading team, the successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems for crypto trading, ensuring reliability and scalability while collaborating closely with product and design teams in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and reliability of backend systems serving traders globally
• Build extensible architecture that supports multiple trading instrument types and scales with demand
• Lead complex technical projects, setting high standards for code quality and system design

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience with ownership of production services
• Proven track record in designing and scaling high-availability, low-latency distributed systems
• Experience leading complex technical projects and making architecture decisions
• Deep proficiency in at least one backend language (Golang preferred) and experience with datastores like MongoDB or Redis
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and drive improvements in engineering culture
