Staff Software Engineer, Backend

Job Summary

To build and scale core systems for crypto trading, the full-time Staff Software Engineer, Backend will design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend infrastructure for the Advanced Trading team, working remotely with quarterly in-person sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and reliability of backend systems serving global traders
• Build architecture that supports multiple trading instruments and scales with demand
• Lead technical projects, ensuring high standards for code quality and system design

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of backend software engineering experience with ownership of production services
• Proven experience designing and scaling high-availability, low-latency distributed systems
• Experience leading complex technical projects and making architecture decisions
• Deep proficiency in at least one backend language, preferably Golang, and experience with datastores like MongoDB or Redis
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and improve engineering culture
