Staff Software Engineer, Backend

Job Summary

To drive technical strategy and enhance team operations, the remote full-time Staff Software Engineer, Backend will set long-term goals, collaborate across product development teams, and ensure the reliability of backend systems while mentoring team members.

Key responsibilities

• Set technical strategy and manage critical business-impacting projects for the team
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to ensure technical sustainability and manage risks
• Foster a culture of quality by establishing code review standards and mentoring team talent

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems using Python or Kotlin
• Proven track record with highly available distributed systems utilizing AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes
• Experience in financial systems or ledgering where data accuracy is critical
• Demonstrated ability to deliver major features and define technical execution plans
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
