Staff Software Engineer, Frontend

Job Summary

Leading the front-end technical strategy for Coinbase Advanced, the full-time Staff Software Engineer, Frontend will own the performance, reliability, and scalability of web and mobile trading clients, driving low-latency interfaces for experienced traders in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the front-end technical roadmap and define architecture decisions for a reliable trading platform
• Drive performance improvements across rendering, network efficiency, and state management for a low-latency trading experience
• Lead complex technical initiatives, setting high standards for code quality and mentoring senior engineers

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in modern front-end frameworks (React, React Native, or equivalent)
• Proven track record in optimizing complex UI systems for performance at scale
• Experience leading technical strategy and cross-team alignment for multi-quarter initiatives
• Demonstrated success in mentoring senior engineers and improving team engineering standards
• Familiarity with high-availability, low-latency systems, preferably in trading or financial applications
