Staff Software Engineer in Test

Job Summary

Owning the architectural vision and strategy for quality and testability, the full-time salaried Staff Software Engineer in Test will design and maintain automation frameworks, integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, and mentor engineers to enhance development velocity and safety in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and scale robust automation frameworks for various services, ensuring seamless developer experience
• Champion a shift-left quality culture and establish metrics for system reliability and test coverage
• Guide and mentor engineering teams on testing best practices and ensure new architectures are testable and observable

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with 3+ years in a Senior, Lead, or Staff role focused on automation infrastructure
• Advanced proficiency in modern backend languages such as Python, Go, Node.js/TypeScript, or Java
• Deep experience with modern testing tools and libraries like Playwright, Cypress, or Appium
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) and CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI)
• Strong understanding of testing distributed systems and asynchronous event-driven architectures
