Starburst Data Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Starburst Data Engineer to support a large-scale data modernization initiative with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize distributed query solutions using Starburst Enterprise Platform (SEP) and Trino
• Enable secure and governed access to data across multiple sources including cloud platforms and data warehouses
• Implement data federation, performance tuning, and query optimization strategies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
• Hands-on experience with Starburst Enterprise Platform (SEP) or strong experience with Trino/Presto
• 8+ years of experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies
• Strong SQL skills and experience with distributed query performance optimization
