State and Local Tax Director

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Director of State and Local Tax to manage all aspects of state and local tax compliance, planning, and controversy, including indirect tax and state and local income tax accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage state and local income tax return preparation process
• Direct the indirect tax function, including filing sales & use taxes and other local taxes
• Lead state and local income and indirect tax audits and develop tax planning strategies

Qualifications:

• BA in Accounting, CPA and/or MST or MBA preferred
• 5-8 years of public accounting and/or industry experience
• Strong understanding of ASC 740 and US Federal and state corporate income tax rules
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently to meet tight deadlines
• Strong computer skills, including Office 365, Alteryx, OneSource Tax Income Accounting, and Corptax Income Tax Compliance
