Job Summary

A company is looking for a State Director for their State Affairs Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a plan to carry out policy and legislative initiatives
  • Advance legislative priorities through lobbying, coalition building, and grassroots outreach
  • Strengthen enforcement of animal protection laws and increase public awareness of priority issues
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Government/Public Affairs, Communications/Media, or related field
  • Minimum of five years of progressive work experience in animal protection/advocacy or related field
  • Legislative/lobbying experience strongly preferred
  • Volunteer management experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the animal welfare movement and legislative process
