State Licensed Associate General Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Associate General Counsel for Institutional Markets/Reinsurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and counsel to the Institutional Markets business, including drafting and reviewing reinsurance agreements
• Support due diligence and strategic initiatives to grow the business while maintaining oversight of in-force operations
• Collaborate with various legal and compliance teams to ensure consistent legal practices across business lines

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of legal experience in life insurance, annuity, or reinsurance sectors
• Strong strategic thinking and organizational skills
• Experience in a large multinational law firm and/or in-house legal department
• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one state bar (preferably NY, TX, or CA)
• Ability to influence diverse stakeholders and build consensus
