Job Summary
Seeking a State Licensed Associate General Counsel, the remote role will provide legal strategy support across regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, capital markets, and corporate governance while advising the executive team and managing legal staff.
Key responsibilities
- Advise on federal and state laws affecting mortgage lending and financial services, while monitoring regulatory developments
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, providing guidance on contract terms and transactional risks
- Direct the Company's default servicing and litigation strategy, ensuring timely resolution of foreclosure and bankruptcy matters
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, in good standing
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience in the financial services industry, ideally as in-house counsel
- Proven negotiation skills and strong business acumen
- Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information
