Job Summary
To support high-profile cross-functional initiatives, the full-time State Licensed Associate General Counsel will provide legal advice on payment laws and financial services regulations while collaborating with various teams to manage risks associated with payment products.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on payment laws, financial services regulations, data privacy, and consumer protection for existing products and new features
- Develop strategic approaches to launching payment products and programs globally
- Assess legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies to product, engineering, risk, and compliance teams
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in practicing privacy law, focusing on data protection requirements applicable to payments and financial services
- J.D. Degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one US state bar
- Eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one jurisdiction
