Job Summary

To support behavioral health operations, the part-time State Licensed Associate Medical Director will provide clinical oversight for utilization management, conduct case reviews, and collaborate with healthcare providers while working remotely from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Utah.

Key responsibilities
  • Completes behavioral health utilization management reviews, including prior authorizations and appeals
  • Develops and implements behavioral health policies and programs, ensuring high-quality standards
  • Serves as a subject matter expert, providing medical advice and oversight for integrated behavioral health services
Required qualifications
  • Licensed Physician with an MD or DO degree and an active, unrestricted license in one or more of the specified states
  • Board Certification in general psychiatry or child psychiatry, with a preference for certification in both
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience and 2 years of health plan medical utilization management or case management experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for behavioral health conditions and healthcare regulations
  • Experience conducting medical case reviews for utilization and/or case management is strongly preferred
