State Licensed CDI Specialist

Job Summary

To enhance the accuracy and integrity of medical records, the full-time remote State Licensed CDI Specialist will perform concurrent inpatient documentation reviews, collaborate with healthcare teams, and support compliant documentation practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform concurrent inpatient documentation reviews to identify opportunities for improved documentation specificity and coding accuracy
• Conduct compliant physician queries to clarify conflicting or ambiguous documentation
• Collaborate with coding, CDI, quality, and physician teams to enhance documentation quality and reduce denials

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license or graduate of an accredited medical program (MD, DO, NP, PA, or equivalent)
• CCDS or CDIP certification required
• Minimum 5 years of concurrent inpatient CDI experience in an acute care hospital
• Strong knowledge of MS and APR-DRG reimbursement, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and compliant query practices
• Experience with CDI platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or similar systems
