Job Summary
A company is looking for a Clinical Documentation Specialist, REMOTE.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the quality, completeness, and accuracy of clinical documentation through extensive record review and education
- Communicate with and educate healthcare providers regarding clinical documentation standards and monitor engagement
- Conduct concurrent reviews of patient health records and accurately code relevant diagnoses while resolving discrepancies
Required Qualifications
- Associate/Diploma Degree in Nursing or Health Information Technology, or an advanced degree in a medical field
- Current Registered Nurse License, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or licensure as a PA/NP/APN required
- Two years of experience in Critical Care, Medical or Surgical Inpatient Care Nursing, or inpatient coding preferred
- Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP) preferred
- Proficient with computer systems and software for data entry and documentation purposes
