Job Summary
To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time State Licensed Clinical Pharmacist will conduct clinical reviews of prior authorization requests for specialty medications, manage inbound communications regarding authorization statuses, and collaborate with healthcare professionals, all in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct clinical reviews of medical data for prior authorization requests and collaborate with technicians and nurses to gather necessary information
- Communicate case decisions to physicians, health plans, and patients in accordance with established approval and denial management processes
- Handle inbound calls and escalations related to prior authorization requests from physicians and patients
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
- Active pharmacist license in the state of residence in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience with specialty medications or clinical review of prior authorization requests
- At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacist with prior authorization
- Proficiency in MS Office and other Windows-based computer applications
