Job Summary
Serving as the primary lawyer responsible for all US commercial matters, the full-time State Licensed Commercial Counsel will draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements while working remotely and collaborating cross-functionally to address legal risks and disputes.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex SaaS, vendor, and partnership agreements
- Act as lead counsel on strategic deals and compliance issues, working closely with the business
- Resolve commercial disputes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from an accredited law school with active bar membership in at least one US state
- 4-7 years of relevant experience as a commercial lawyer, with in-house legal experience required
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, commercial law, and corporate law
- Proven negotiation skills and a track record of successfully closing commercial deals
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment, preferably within a startup technology company
