Job Summary
Serving as a trusted legal advisor, the part-time State Licensed Corporate Counsel will negotiate and draft contracts related to health plan administration, provide strategic counsel on benefit plans, and ensure compliance with relevant laws while working remotely or in a hybrid capacity from Dublin, Ohio.
Key responsibilities
- Negotiate and draft client and vendor contracts, including those with third-party administrators and pharmacy benefit managers
- Provide strategic counsel on the design and administration of health and welfare benefit plans
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and respond to benefits-related disputes and claims
Required qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Current and active license to practice law in a U.S. state
- 5-10 years of legal experience, particularly in health and welfare benefits and vendor contract negotiation
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and other laws impacting group health plans
- Experience in drafting and managing contracts with performance metrics and compliance terms
